Enlargement in 2003
In 2003, the Bornholm Art Museum reopened after enlarging its facilities by 1,000 m▓. The project was launched in November 2002, using the same architects who had designed the original building. The enlargement includes two new exhibition buildings, an enlarged administration building and a rebuilt entrance section.
The enlargement project enabled the museum to increase the floor space of the permanent exhibition by more than 50%, making room for a great many works that had previously been in storage. The special exhibition areas have been enlarged by roughly 75%, making larger and more in-depth exhibitions possible. The museumњs administration facilities have also been enlarged to include even better offices, a larger workshop and better unloading facilities.
