Helligdomsklipperne (Sanctuary Rocks)

A steep stairway leads down to the sanctuary rock formation which previously attracted people to a sacred spring – Helligdomskilden – which at this place is more of a hole in the rock than an outright spring. Several caves big enough to enter are found at the foot of the Sanctuary Rocks.

The sightseeing boat “Thor” docks by Libert’s Rock below. In peak season, Thor ferries passengers back and forth between Rø and Gudhjem. A trail along the coast leads all the way to Gudhjem. It takes about one and a half hours to hike the entire distance along the coast from Gudhjem to Rø.
